Alienated ID
Mixed media, 2023
An installation based on photographic works that capture facilities which disappeared without any guarantees during the pandemic, and the deeply personal memories associated with them, altered with IPL light and painted over.
English translation of the novel
The old house next to where I used to live was gone when I visited after several years, along with many cats. A McDonald’s had been built nearby, but I can’t remember what was there before. The town goes through changes. Even that place I suddenly remembered, had quietly closed down during the pandemic, without any guarantees. However, I believe I needed that place at that time, so I ended up opening its door. Even without very small rooms like those, the town moves, but I felt the sadness of an existence that fades away, unnoticed and gets phased out. On my way back, I bought two popsicles from the convenience store. I wanted to cool my body a bit more than usual.
