Discolored silver halide prints, 2022
H350×W465×8
In this photographic work, I used IPL light (a flash epilator technique) to discolor my self-portrait, which depicts a landscape that traces my memories of outing and dropping out from school and the distorted conflicts I have been carrying around since then. This work pursues the root of self-cleansing memories that one wants erased and the aesthetic sense of wanting to remove something from the body. It was selected for the Contemporary Art Foundation Award 2022 and received the Jury’s Award.
